Pu'u Wa'awa'a

DLNR Na Ala Hele Trails & Access Program is developing a comprehensive recreation plan for the Nāpu'u area, which includes new mountain bike trails.

DLNR has contracted with Forest Solutions and Progressive Trail Design to create the plan and construct new trails. We are actively engaging with the planning process.

This is a unique landscape that includes multiple forest zones, lava tubes that house unique habitats for native flora and fauna, and a number of habitat restoration areas.
